Dr X is being disingenuous - any psychiatrist’s word carries a lot of weight - it’s dishonest of him to pretend otherwise. If tribunals disagree with the a psychiatrist they would need very strong reasons to. I think he is trying to shuck off responsibility so that he doesn’t have to confront your questions. Evasion is their modus operandi in my experience, “do not engage” is their primary defence. (I am very cynical obviously!)

My “glass-half-full” optimistic life philosophy might have found you cynical before I came into contact with Psychiatry but these days I’m more inclined to consider you a pragmatist! I’m ashamed to say it but when I had that freeze response during discourse with Dr X my heart started to break and the inclination was to toe the line of his oh-so convenient ruse. I managed to traverse to a fight response but the fact that I was even prepared to entertain Dr X’s bullshit is a source of shame! Thanks for your dose of smelling salts!

It is heartbreaking! Your safety/freeze reaction is completely rational. As is your compassionate belief in people - giving them the benefit of the doubt. It’s never something to be ashamed of - those who abuse it bear the shame.

You’re in the room, relating to a person who you have no choice but to engage with and who you have to “manage’ for your own safety. I am sitting on a couch getting outraged and venting - it’s easy for me to judge 😂💜

His boast that Tribunals even dare to challenge him feels more like a vote of consternation than any kind of badge of humanity.
